The National Literary Foundation was founded in 2007.  Its purpose is to support the advancement of literature in America. Through various programs we help keep literature alive and recognize the best in publishing.  In 2008 the National Literary Awards Committee was formed. The awards committee recognizes the best in American Literature. Every year we award the best books in American Literature for fiction and non-fiction published in the last three years of the award year. There are multiple categories for awards. We recognize the best books in independent literature, children’s literature, mystery & thriller, theater, and special categories such as literature with a sexual nature (non erotic). These award winning books are the essence of great literature and offer something more for readers than the ordinary book that’s published. Our purpose is to award those rare books that offer a great literary quality and are the best in American Literature today.
